Flu Cases Decrease in Sooner State
The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting two new flu-related deaths and 34 more hospitalizations due to influenza.
The OSDH report shows there have been 25 deaths and 862 hospitalizations in the Sooner State since flu season started in September.
The two deaths were reported in Nowata and Washington counties in northeastern Oklahoma.
Tulsa County has had six deaths due to flu while Oklahoma and Comanche
counties have each had three. Washington and Pittsburg counties each
reported two deaths.
According to the Center for Disease Control, flu season peaks in January or February and can last into May.

Search continues in creek for missing Okla. teen

KINGFISHER, Okla. (AP) -- Authorities continue to search for a Kingfisher teenager who disappeared after jumping into Uncle John Creek.
Police say 17-year-old Taylor Faine jumped into the creek Thursday and did not resurface. Kingfisher Fire Chief Randy Poindexter told The Oklahoman (http://bit.ly/10s2oB6 ) on Saturday that manmade dams have been built in hopes of finding Faine's body.
Authorities say Faine was swimming with friends in an area where no swimming signs are in place because of dangerous currents in the creek.
