Neighbor Turns in Man for Having Child Porn
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK-- Oklahoma City Police arrest a man for possession of child porn, the suspect's neighbors turned him in after disturbing images leaked onto their apartment's shared network.
Oklahoma City Police arrested Jason Cook at his apartment after his landlord and several neighbors spotted the inappropriate content.
Reports show one of the witnesses told police he knew it was Cook's computer because he was the only person in the complex who uses Windows to access the shared network.
Stacy Seely says it began when he and his roommate had trouble with their Playstation console. They tried to access video games from a shared folder, but instead, found child pornography.
"I can't believe that I live that close to somebody that is so wrong for society," said Seely, recalling the discovery.
Seely says his roommate contacted their landlord Garry Wilson, who called police and prepared to kick out Cook.
"We've got a crime release addendum that everybody signs, and it's real explicit," said Wilson.
When Oklahoma City Police arrived at the apartment complex at 1130 N. Barnes Ave, Cook's computer was off and officers were unable to see what he had on the shared drive.
Neighbors say when Cook to turned his computer back on, they collected evidence from the shared folder, and turned it over to police.
Police say investigation led them to issue a warrant for Cook's arrest. He's being held at the Oklahoma County Jail.
