UPDATE: One Person Shot in NW Oklahoma City
Police have identified a man shot in northwest Oklahoma City. Spencer Davis, 20, was shot in the incident Tuesday afternoon. He is in critical condition after surgery.
Friends tell Fox 25 Davis is the son of an Oklahoma City Police lieutenant.
The shooting happened at the Britton Courtyards apartments around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. That complex is located on Britton and Rockwell.
Police said Davis was trying to fight off two men during an attempted robbery when he was shot.
"We do have investigators here at the scene looking into what exactly happened leading up to the shooting, trying to interview potential witnesses or anyone who might have information," Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow said.
Wardlow said the two men involved ran off after the shooting, but witnesses could not say where they went.
"It's just devastating to hear that young people are doing this to other young people. It's just awful. In broad daylight, not to mention," Denise Martinez, who lives nearby, said.
"My prayers go out to the family. I'm tired of seeing people being shot. It's just terrible," another neighbor, Tawanna Lawrence said.

Suspect caught in series of Stillwater robberies
May 23, 2013 07:46 GMT
STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) -- Police in Stillwater say they believe a suspect in custody is responsible for a series of store robberies that began in January.
Police Capt. Randy Dickerson said Tuesday that 24-year-old Jackson Pascal Rwezaula is held on complaints for two of the robberies.
The Stillwater News-Press reports (http://is.gd/GLCxxC ) Rwezaula (weh-zahl-uh) refuses to speak to investigators.
Dickerson said the robberies confounded police for months, to the point that the investigation became personal.
Officials say the suspect's face showed up clearly in a security image from one of the robberies and a tipster gave Rwezaula's name.
Police say they recovered disguises and other evidence allegedly linking Rwezaula to the crimes.
