Oklahoma City Council Considering Streetcar Plan
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Members of the Oklahoma City Council want to broaden the look the panel is taking at installing streetcars in the city's downtown. Several council members on Wednesday said they want a consultant group to study a range of available options for streetcar routes and the scope of the downtown project. The city has $120 million for the project that's part of a $777 million improvements package from a 2009 sales tax election. A transit subcommittee has proposed a streetcar line that would circulate amid Bricktown, St. Anthony Hospital and other destinations. A public hearing is to be held later this month.

Another storm system poised to hit Oklahoma
May 20, 2013 11:14 GMT
NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- Oklahoma is bracing for more severe weather as another storm system takes aim at the state.
The National Weather Service says baseball-sized hail and tornadoes are possible Monday afternoon and evening in Oklahoma. Forecasters say a large section of central and eastern Oklahoma is at a moderate risk for the severe weather. The moderate risk area includes Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
The severe weather comes a day after storms pummeled Oklahoma, killing one person and injuring 21. Forecasters say Monday's scenario will look a lot like Sunday's.
The National Weather Service says emergency management personnel and storm spotters should plan for severe weather from 1 p.m. until midnight.
