Woman Held Hostage in Murder-Suicide Speaks Out

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK-- A woman held hostage during a murder-suicide says she not only lost her boyfriend, but her four children and their father after Thursday's tragedy.

The woman asked not to be identified.  She says she watched her estranged husband, Darrell Wilson, shoot her boyfriend Bill Schnittman to death after breaking into her home.

"He pointed the gun at Bill and shot him in the head twice," she tearfully recalled.

The woman says Wilson fired gunshots in front of their one year old daughter.  Oklahoma City Police say after shooting Schnittman and sexually assaulting the woman, he led officers on a high speed chase that ended just south of the I-35 and I-40 junction.  The pursuit ended when Wilson shot himself.

"While I don't think anyone could have predicted he would do this," said the woman, "everyone who knew him, knew that he was unstable."

Wilson's brother, Douglas Wilson, told Fox-25 the woman filed a victim's protective order against Darrell Wilson before Thursday's murder-suicide.

"The last conversation I had with him on the phone was that he didn't know what else to do," said Douglas.

Douglas says the VPO would keep Wilson away from his four children on Christmas.

"For my brother who really only had his kids in that relationship, it tore him apart," said Douglas.

The woman says she filed the protective order because Wilson made previous suicide attempts in front of their four children.

"I can't tell you how it feels, not being able to protect your kids form something like that," she said.

The woman says after the murder-suicide, DHS workers took her four children into custody.  As her children mourn the loss of their father, the woman says she does not know why DHS workers took them away, but she's fighting to get them back.  Until then, she has one simple message for her kids.

"Mommy loves you guys so much," she said, "and I promise, I will, I will make everything okay."

Search continues in creek for missing Okla. teen
May 25, 2013 22:59 GMT

KINGFISHER, Okla. (AP) -- Authorities continue to search for a Kingfisher teenager who disappeared after jumping into Uncle John Creek.

Police say 17-year-old Taylor Faine jumped into the creek Thursday and did not resurface. Kingfisher Fire Chief Randy Poindexter told The Oklahoman (http://bit.ly/10s2oB6 ) on Saturday that manmade dams have been built in hopes of finding Faine's body.

Authorities say Faine was swimming with friends in an area where no swimming signs are in place because of dangerous currents in the creek.
