Elderly Scam Artist Suspect
Oklahoma City Police is working a case where a 68 year-old woman was scammed into withdrawing in excess of $7,000 from her bank account and giving it to a scam artist. The suspect, a black female, approached the victim in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart at 6100 W. Reno and told her that she had found a day-planner and did not want to open it alone. From there the suspect convinced the victim to go to the victim’s bank and make the cash withdrawal. The suspect then was supposed to go and do the same thing, but never returned with the victim’s money. The victim’s family is putting up a $1,000 reward for information leading to the suspect’s arrest and charges being filed. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 235-7300.

Search continues in creek for missing Okla. teen
May 25, 2013 22:59 GMT
KINGFISHER, Okla. (AP) -- Authorities continue to search for a Kingfisher teenager who disappeared after jumping into Uncle John Creek.
Police say 17-year-old Taylor Faine jumped into the creek Thursday and did not resurface. Kingfisher Fire Chief Randy Poindexter told The Oklahoman (http://bit.ly/10s2oB6 ) on Saturday that manmade dams have been built in hopes of finding Faine's body.
Authorities say Faine was swimming with friends in an area where no swimming signs are in place because of dangerous currents in the creek.
