Search Continues for Missing Kangaroo
SHAWNEE, Okla. (AP) -- The search continues for a missing pet kangaroo that disappeared from a Shawnee home on Thanksgiving.
The Menhusen family believes that their pet, named Lucy Sparkles, hopped off Thursday after being spooked by the family's visitors on Thanksgiving. Shayla Menhusen says there was an unconfirmed Lucy Sparkles sighting in east Oklahoma City on Saturday. She says the pet was also spotted Sunday closer to home in Shawnee.
Menhusen says her 4-year-old daughter Layla named the kangaroo. The family is offering a $1,000 reward for Lucy Sparkles' safe return.
Menhusen says that the kangaroo is 11 months old and is about 2 feet tall wheb standing. She says Lucy Sparkles is gentle and likes to be held -- and is particularly fond of Cheetos.

Search continues in creek for missing Okla. teen

KINGFISHER, Okla. (AP) -- Authorities continue to search for a Kingfisher teenager who disappeared after jumping into Uncle John Creek.
Police say 17-year-old Taylor Faine jumped into the creek Thursday and did not resurface. Kingfisher Fire Chief Randy Poindexter told The Oklahoman (http://bit.ly/10s2oB6 ) on Saturday that manmade dams have been built in hopes of finding Faine's body.
Authorities say Faine was swimming with friends in an area where no swimming signs are in place because of dangerous currents in the creek.
