Shooter At Large After Killing a Man at a Car Wash
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK -- A shooter remains at large after killing a man at a car wash in southwest Oklahoma City.
"I had just went to take my dogs out and I sat down and I heard a very loud gunshot," said Holly Melher.
"It was loud. It made me jump and I knew it was close and then 10 secs later I heard cars speeding off, then I heard sirens," said Melher.
Officers say the victim was vacuuming out his car at the Star Wash Car Wash at SW 51st and Pennsylvania when the suspect shot him and fled.
"That's scary. That's really scary," said Kristen Mathes who lives nearby.
"When officers arrived we found one white male victim laying by a car," said Lt. Don Holland with the Oklahoma City Police Department.
The victim was transported to OU Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Police have not yet identified the victim or the suspect. No arrests have been made.
"I think it's horrible. It's horrible that the city is getting this bad," said Mathes.
Anyone with information should call the Homicide tip-line at 405-297-1200.
