Worst Intersections In Oklahoma City
Oklahoma City addresses the 10 worst intersections in the city. The list is based off the number of accidents in the intersections over the last three years.
At the top of the list is Northwest Expressway and Bell Isle Blvd. It had 181 accidents reported. Drivers are not surprised.
"Your taking your life into your own hands when you get out there," said Cathy Boyer.
"I have a friend who used to say no, I don't take Belle Isle Bridge because it's a death trap," said Scott Hunter.
Oklahoma City Public Works Director, Eric Wenger, says improvements have been made to the intersection but there is still a long way to go.
"Sometimes you just have to consider the removal of some of the streets or some of the lanes."
City officials are considering options not just for Belle Isle Blvd, but all intersections on the list.
"Adding left turn lanes, dedicated left turn signals is a huge improvement we can make. Another thing we can do is change the timing of lights."
The full list of intersections is listed below.
1. NW Expressway and Belle Isle Blvd (181)
2 - NW Expressway and Rockwell (113)

Service members clean smashed Okla. veterans park
May 23, 2013 00:44 GMT
MOORE, Okla. (AP) -- With Memorial Day just around the corner and an Oklahoma veterans park in shambles after a tornado, airmen from a local base moved in to spruce things up for the holiday.
Master Sgt. Kimberly Baldwin went to the Veterans Memorial Park where she and her husband Joseph do their daily runs and found the park littered with debris and statues knocked over. By Wednesday, she and other service members from Tinker Air Force Base were at work to clean it up.
Baldwin's sister Marla Moore said the aim is to have the park fixed up by Memorial Day, which is Monday.
Baldwin said the park feels like the "heart of Moore," which was hit Monday by a tornado packing winds over 200 mph. State emergency managers said 24 people died.
