Oklahoma says no to the Affordable Health Care Act
Oklahoma goes all in, on it`s gamble against the Affordable Health Care Act.
Oklahoma
leaders have decided we will not co-operate with the feds. Governor
Mary Fallin says the Sooner State will not setup a federal health
exchange and will not modify Medicaid as required by the Affordable
Health Care Act or what some are calling Obama-care.
Republican
leaders were worried that spending money on a state-based exchange could
be a waste because the federal government may not accept any plan
created by Oklahoma.
The move also keeps Oklahoma`s current lawsuit against the federal government alive.
Oklahoma is suing over the IRS` rule that promises to impose a penalty on employers - despite a loophole in the health care law.
The Attorney General says despite apparent losses, Oklahoma and other states have made ground in the fight against the law.
The
governor`s opposition say it puts Oklahoma on the hook for millions of
dollars that the federal government promised to pick up if we created
our own exchange.
Democrat lawmakers say the governor`s policy
towards the Affordable Health Care Act hinders Oklahomans from getting
health insurance.
