State Leaders Make a Plan for Healthcare
Oklahoma has more time to conform meet federal healthcare mandates.
The Feds extended the November 15 deadline to December 14.
Oklahoma is one of eight states that has not created a plan for a healthcare exchange as required by the Affordable Healthcare Act.
The healthcare exchange allows people to look at health insurance options and
purchase healthcare under the act.
Governor Mary Fallin waited
for the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling on the new requirements and the presidential election hoping the President Obama backed plan would be overturned.
Fallin also refused $54 million in federal aid to set up the exchange.
The U.S. Health Department said in a release the funds are still available.
The Governor is expected to announce her plans within the next week.
If Oklahoma fails to come up with a plan, the federal government could impose their own plan and force the state to comply.

Civil Air Patrol helps asses Okla. tornado damage

MOORE, Okla. (AP) -- The Oklahoma Civil Air Patrol Wing is helping the Federal Emergency Management Agency by going door-to-door to help assess damage from the killer tornado that struck Moore.
Lt. Col. Dave Roberts says the work began Wednesday to photograph the estimated 12,00 homes damaged by the tornadoes in Moore and south Oklahoma City.
He says the CAP has been taking an average of 500 photos per day and hopes to triple that amount Saturday with the addition of more volunteers.
