1 Killed in Crash of Plane Near Anadarko Airport
ANADARKO, Okla. (AP) -- The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says one person has been killed in the crash of a single-engine airplane near the airport in Anadarko.
Lt. George Brown says troopers were notified of the crash about 1 p.m. Tuesday and that the only person that appeared to be on board the plane was killed.
Authorities said that the pilot was flying to visit family in Gracemont. Authorities identified the pilot as 62-year-old Robert Glasscock of Lubbock, Texas.
Brown said witnesses reported the plane appeared to be on approach to the airport -- but that he did not know where the flight originated or what its destination was.
Anadarko is about 60 miles southwest of Oklahoma City.
