Mystery Firm Formed Days Before $5M Campaign Gift

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A shadowy Tennessee company donated more than $5 million to a prominent conservative super political action committee days after establishing itself.
So who's behind one of the largest batches of election contributions this year? There's a questionable trail.
New campaign finance reports show that the political committee, FreedomWorks for America, received seven donations totaling $5.28 million from Knoxville-based Specialty Group Inc.
The money is helping pay for TV ads supporting conservative candidates for federal office.
An Associated Press review of Tennessee business records showed that Specialty Group filed incorporation papers Sept. 26, less than a week before it gave several contributions to FreedomWorks worth between $125,000 and $1.5 million apiece.
The Specialty Group appears to have no website detailing its products or services. It's registered to a suburban Knoxville home.

Okla. House gives final approval to tornado relief
May 23, 2013 16:07 GMT

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The Oklahoma House has given final approval to legislation that dips into the state's constitutional reserve fund to help central Oklahoma communities impacted by devastating tornadoes.

Without debate, the House voted 95-0 Thursday for the measure that appropriates $45 million from the state's Rainy Day Fund for tornado relief. The bill passed the Senate on Wednesday by a vote of 45-0.

The reserve funds will be deposited into the State Emergency Fund and used by the Oklahoma Office of Emergency Management to aid in recovery efforts, including infrastructure repairs. Officials say the money will be used to match federal money made available to affected communities.

A massive tornado struck the city of Moore on Monday, killing at least 24 people. A separate tornado on Sunday left two dead in Shawnee.
