Testimony Under Way In Oklahoma Fatal Fire Trial
PURCELL, Okla. (AP) -- Testimony is under way in McClain County in the first-degree murder trial of a man accused of the deaths of two children and their mother. Four witnesses testified Wednesday in the trial of 29-year-old Shaun Michael Bosse. Bosse is charged in the July 23, 2010, deaths of 25-year-old Katrina Griffin and her two children, 8-year-old Christian Griffin and 6-year-old Chasity Hammer. Prosecutors allege that Katrina Griffin died from multiple sharp force trauma and Christian died from multiple stab wounds. Chasity died from smoke inhalation and burns after the family's mobile home in Dibble was set on fire. Jury selection in the case began on Oct. 1. Twelve jurors and three alternate jurors were seated on Tuesday. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty in the case. Bosse has pleaded not guilty.

Fairchild still candidate for new planes
May 22, 2013 15:53 GMT
By NICHOLAS K. GERANIOS Associated Press
SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) -- Officials in Washington are expressing disappointment that Fairchild Air Force base was not chosen as the first home of the Air Force's new aerial refueling tankers.
Members of the Kansas congressional delegation announced Wednesday that McConnell Air Force Base in Topeka, Kan., was chosen as the first base to receive the new Boeing-built KC-46A tankers.
Fairchild, the Spokane area's largest single employer, remains a candidate to receive new tankers later.
The new aircraft will replace the aging KC-135 fleet flown by crews, including those at Fairchild, for the past 50 years. The Air Force will base 36 of the new aircraft at McConnell starting in 2016.
Fairchild was finalist for the job, along with bases in North Dakota and Oklahoma.
