3 Oklahoma High School Teens Die Within Week
JENKS, Okla. (AP) -- An Oklahoma high school just outside Tulsa is mourning the loss of three students who died within a week.
The Tulsa World reports (http://bit.ly/RNFLUD ) that 18-year-old Kristjan Hinrik Thorsson was shot to death outside a convenience store on Sept. 8.
Four days later, a former 15-year-old classmate committed suicide. The following day, 18-year-old Andrea Mayes died of complications from a congenital heart condition.
Many Jenks High School students are wearing red, white and blue bracelets in memory of the students who died.
Chalk drawings began showing up on campus sidewalks, with blue for Thorsson, red for Mayes and white for the student who took his own life.
Jenks Public Schools spokeswoman Bonnie Rogers says the three deaths were difficult for the whole district.

Another storm system poised to hit Oklahoma
May 20, 2013 11:14 GMT
NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- Oklahoma is bracing for more severe weather as another storm system takes aim at the state.
The National Weather Service says baseball-sized hail and tornadoes are possible Monday afternoon and evening in Oklahoma. Forecasters say a large section of central and eastern Oklahoma is at a moderate risk for the severe weather. The moderate risk area includes Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
The severe weather comes a day after storms pummeled Oklahoma, killing one person and injuring 21. Forecasters say Monday's scenario will look a lot like Sunday's.
The National Weather Service says emergency management personnel and storm spotters should plan for severe weather from 1 p.m. until midnight.
