Great Taste of a Fair
It is State Fair time and that means whatever you can put a stick in and deep fry is on the menu. This year is seeing some new comers to food row and we're giving you a look at the best of the best of the fair food.
Fox 25's Phil Cross was one of the judges for this year's Great Taste of A Fair contest pitting the tastiest and craziest fair foods against each other. Other judges include food writers and other media personalities along with one fair fanatic. Darvin Ward won the right to bring his stomach to the judges' table. Ward says he was born and raised in Oklahoma, so the fair has always been a family tradition. He says he loved trying all the new items, which allowed him to try things he may never have tried at the fair before.
Topping the judge's list of favorites included some not-so-typical fair foods from local vendors. Coco Flow's "Oklahoma Cabernet Chocolate Soufflé" was a run away favorite of the judges and adds a touch of fine dining to the fair favorites. Rodney and Lisa Ltd, another Oklahoma company, pleased the palates with their homemade caramel apples. Their apples come in 16 different varieties and offer a slightly healthy snack amid the fried foods.
Looking for something savory? The "Juicy Lucy" burger is a first timer to Oklahoma. This burger comes with the cheese inside. They are made to order and can be stuffed with a variety of toppings besides just cheese. The Ragin' Cajun chicken is always a crowd pleaser with their homemade hot sauce.
Some of the more unique items you'll find at the fair this year include the Bacon Habit's "Porkabella Kabob." This kabob features mushrooms stuff with Gouda cheese, wrapped in bacon and then Bar-b-Qued to perfection. Several sweets have their own unique fair twist including the "Fudge Puppy," a Beligium waffle covered in chocolate and available with strawberries and whip cream. And if you're looking for more unique desserts Layne Concessions is featuring a "Deep Fried Bacon Brownie," which adds a little salty sweet flavor to your fair food experience.

And senior Cameron Knight says if he had a choice to live anywhere in the country, he'd still pick his hometown.
Westmoore was the first of three schools to hold commencement ceremonies Saturday at the Cox Convention Center in downtown Oklahoma City
The Oklahoma City suburb was hit by a strong tornado Monday; 24 people died and hundreds were injured.
The Moore School District canceled its school year after the tornado hit the Plaza Towers and Briarwood elementary schools, but wants graduation ceremonies to go on.
