RedRock Canyon Grill Set to Open Soon
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK -- A popular restaurant on Lake Hefner prepares to reopen. Redrock Canyon Grill closed its doors in May due to a fire, but its restaurant group plans to have it back in business in October.
Hank Kraft, the Chief Operating Officer of the Hal Smith Restaurant Group says the contractor will turn the building back over to them at the beginning of October. Kraft says they hope to open the restaurant in mid-October.
On May 29th, storms blew through the Lake Hefner area. Kraft says hail broke neon tubing lining the building just under the roof which sparked a fire at the restaurant. The fire caused more than $1 million damage.
As for the employees, Kraft says insurance is covering the total payroll for all employees of Redrock until the day they open.
Coming up on the Primetime News at Nine, patrons share what they miss the most about the restaurant.

Search continues in creek for missing Okla. teen
May 25, 2013 22:59 GMT
KINGFISHER, Okla. (AP) -- Authorities continue to search for a Kingfisher teenager who disappeared after jumping into Uncle John Creek.
Police say 17-year-old Taylor Faine jumped into the creek Thursday and did not resurface. Kingfisher Fire Chief Randy Poindexter told The Oklahoman (http://bit.ly/10s2oB6 ) on Saturday that manmade dams have been built in hopes of finding Faine's body.
Authorities say Faine was swimming with friends in an area where no swimming signs are in place because of dangerous currents in the creek.
