Fire donation efforts
Oklahoma County officials are accepting Saturday and through the upcoming week for residents displaced by wildfires. City Worker Randy Snow worked one donation site Saturday, "We've seen everything from water to gatorade to lawn chairs to bedding and beds," Snow said. The Donations will be accepted through next week at the county's three maintenance barns. The barns are at 11500 N Hudson, 7105 S Anderson Road and 7321 NE 23. Items also will be accepted at the sheriff's substation at SE 29 and Midwest Boulevard. City workers said the site has not slowed since opening, "About every 10-15 minutes and sometimes 2-3 cars at a time," Snow said. The Red Cross has also set up more than six shelters across seven counties for the wildfires. They are also accepting donations for firefighters and fire victims. Snow said he has no doubt Oklahomans will continue to provide help in full force, "We are fortunate that we have people like that," Snow added.

Wife guilty in Nichols Hills fire chief slaying
May 22, 2013 00:24 GMT
EL RENO, Okla. (AP) -- A jury in El Reno has convicted Rebecca Bryan of the murder of her husband, Nichols Hills Fire Chief Keith Bryan, and recommended a sentence of life in prison without parole.
Jurors reached the Tuesday verdict after about four hours of deliberation.
The 54-year-old Bryan claimed an intruder had shot her husband, though police found her Ruger pistol in a clothes dryer in their home after the shooting.
The gun was matched to the bullet used to shoot Keith Bryan in 2011 at the couple's Mustang home. Police also found a spent shell casing and a left-handed rubber glove wrapped in a bullet-riddled blanket.
The Oklahoman reports (http://is.gd/mvC6Mi ) Bryan didn't display her emotions when the verdict was read. Her lawyer gave her a hug and told her he was sorry.
