Luther fire victims
Fire swept through Luther this weekend destroying more than 50 structures, two dozen of which were homes. Saturday families returned to where their homes once stood on Dogwood Rd. Flames reduced the entire neighborhood to ash. "You can't get everything 30 or 45 minutes," Casey Strahan. "You practice fire drills at school. You don't practice them at home very often. So you don't know what to get or when to get it." Strahan's family and their neighbors were told by police to evacuate around 5 p.m. Friday. a little more than an hour later and flames began to consume the block. "They just told us leave, leave now," said Victoria Landavazo. "So, we just left." Families tried to pick through the ash to find anything salvageable, but some homes were still burning Saturday morning. The Red Cross is assisting families with clothes, food and shelter. State officials report no injuries or deaths from the Luther Fire. Fire officals are asking for people to donate ice to keep food and water cold for Luther residents since the enire city is without power.

KINGFISHER, Okla. (AP) -- Authorities continue to search for a Kingfisher teenager who disappeared after jumping into Uncle John Creek.
Police say 17-year-old Taylor Faine jumped into the creek Thursday and did not resurface. Kingfisher Fire Chief Randy Poindexter told The Oklahoman (http://bit.ly/10s2oB6 ) on Saturday that manmade dams have been built in hopes of finding Faine's body.
Authorities say Faine was swimming with friends in an area where no swimming signs are in place because of dangerous currents in the creek.
