Missing Shawnee Woman
Samantha Weaver, 27, has been missing for six weeks. She was last seen at Riverwind Casino in Norman on June 15th, and was last heard from through a text message at about 6:30 p.m. that day, he family said.
"It worries me because she's never gone, in the two years we've been apart, she's never gone 24 hours without seeing the girls, contacting me," said Billy Jack Kirkpatrick, Weaver's ex-husband and best friend. They have two young girls together. "The family and me we know that something had to have happened to her, because she wouldn't have been gone this long for any reason."
Weaver has been reported as missing to police, but the family said detectives have found nothing. Her family has plastered pictures of her all over Shawnee businesses and street, hoping that the public will be able to help.
"All we can do is wait," Kirkpatrick said.
Weaver is about 5' 4'' tall and weighs about 115 lbs. She has light brown hair and brown eyes.

Okla. court upholds life sentence in uncle's death
May 17, 2013 21:34 GMT
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- An Oklahoma appeals court has upheld the life prison sentence of a 38-year-old man who was convicted of first-degree murder for shooting his uncle to death.
The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals handed down the decision Friday in the case of Patrick Shane Yargee. A jury in Tulsa County found Yargee guilty in the 2010 shooting death of 48-year-old David Willie Harjo.
Authorities alleged that Yargee shot Harjo eight times in a residence in northern Tulsa. Reports filed in the case indicate that the two men had an argument involving a woman before the shooting.
The five-judge court unanimously rejected Yargee's claims that he was denied a fair trial.
Yargee's defense attorney, Stuart Southerland of the Tulsa County Public Defender's Office, did not immediately return a telephone call seeking comment.
