Water Rationing Continues into Spring
At Springs debut much of the Sooner state cities are already under water rationing. Yukon, Shawnee, Norman, Pauls Valley and Oklahoma City are just a few of the cities with water rules like odd/even water restrictions.
The Oklahoma Water Resource Board just finished its latest Comprehensive Water Report, the agency decides who gets water and how much. "It certainly is a crisis, and it could get worse," J.D. Strong with the agency said. Strong says though there is no reason to panic, and that we are not running out of water, Oklahoman's should adopt the western desert philosophy of water conservation now, "That water doesn't come from some magic water supply source, it comes from somewhere else," Strong said. Strong says Oklahoma has 12 'hot spots' that are in the most dire circumstances, those places are all in far Western Oklahoma. "This should be a wake up call to people," Strong continued, "We should plan for the worst in how we use our daily water."
