Two Oklahoma City Council Seats to be Decided in Runoff Elections
The Oklahoma City Council elections for the seats in Ward 1 and 7 will be decided in runoff elections April 2.
Voters took to the polls Tuesday to elect council representation for Ward 1 and Ward 7. In both elections, no candidate drew more than 50% of the vote. The top two vote receiving candidates in both elections will be voted on in the runoff election April 2.
In Ward 1, incumbent Gary Marrs drew 38 percent of the vote while James Greiner drew 37 percent. Ward 1 covers much of northwest Oklahoma City.
Ward 7 featured seven candidates. Incumbent Ronald "Skip" Kelly received 30 percent of the vote. Kelly will face John A. Pettis Jr. in the runoff election. Pettis received 25 percent of the vote. Ward 7 primarily consists of northeast Oklahoma City.

Chesapeake to donate $1 million to tornado relief

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Oklahoma-based Chesapeake Energy Corp. says it will donate $1 million to the American Red Cross to help in the rescue and recovery efforts in Moore.
The oil and gas company says it's also organizing hundreds of employee volunteers to help in the relief effort.
Chesapeake board chairman Archie Dunham says the company is providing "all possible assistance" using Chesapeake's equipment, machinery and resources. The company is also using its "Operation Blue" employee program that allows workers to volunteer four hours on company time.
Chesapeake says it will expand the Operation Blue campaign to help out in Moore.
