Two Teenage Girls from Oklahoma City Die in Early Morning Accident

Two teenage girls from Oklahoma City die in an early morning crash.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say the two 17 year olds were with two others in a van that broke down on Highway 51 near Stillwater around 1am Friday morning.

Dajia La Nae Brown, 17,  and Carla Duenes, 17, both of Oklahoma City were in the van with Sofia Gabrielson, 16, that was being pushed off of the highway.

Troopers say three guys were helping push the van, when another driver hit the van.

Drown and Duenes, died at the scene. Gabrielson was taken to the hospital in serious condition after being pinned for 2 hours.
Two of the pedestrians helping push the van were treated and released for minor injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle was also treated and released.

Okla. highways reopened after Moore tornado

MOORE, Okla. (AP) -- Oklahoma highway officials say Interstate 35 in Moore has reopened in both directions.

But the Transportation Department said late Monday that travel in the Moore area was still discouraged.

The agency said first responders, utility crews and others performing official duties are working in the area and need clear lanes of travel.

The department says no other highways are closed due to the storms.
