Construction Cancels Classes at OKC Elementary School
Renovations have forced Oklahoma City Public School officials to cancel classes at Parmelee Elementary School.
The school is currently under MAPS for Kids renovations. During renovation, a crew tore up old tile, sending dust particles into the air.
Thursday, The Department of Labor came in for inspection and is concerned that the air quality is compromised.
The school district took precautionary action and immediately relocated students to the rec center across the street from the school. Parents can pick up their students there Thursday afternoon.
Officials will conduct air samples Thursday and Friday.
As a precaution, school will be cancelled Friday.
