Police Identify Woman Killed in Late Night Shooting in The Village
"I was lying in bed and I woke up to lights in my bedroom ."
A neighbor who doesn't want to be named describes the scene outside her home in The Village Thursday night .
"I heard the helicopter flying around and i thought something serious had happened."
"Officers received a call of a traffic accident on one of our streets around Plymouth and Sunnymeade," said Deputy Chief Steve Jagosh with The Village Police Department.
But when police arrived they found much more.
"The woman was unresponsive in the driver seat. She had several gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead on the scene," said Chief Jagosh
Police says Amber Stokke was backing out of her driveway when two men approached her.
"One comes up to the car, they exchange some words and at that point the shots were fired."
Stokke tried to drive away...but crashed into a fence about 4 blocks away.
Police say she was six months pregnant.
"In this state you can be charged with murder for an unborn child," Said Chief Jagosh
"We don't know if there was a relationship. What the relationship was. We just don't know."
Neighbors still can't believe it happened. "It freaked me out."
But say now they'll take extra precautions."I'll definitely be protecting myself a little more."
Police have not identified a suspect in the homicide and police are asking for anyone with information to call The Village Police Department at 405-751-1234.

Man: Daughter killed in tornado was 'special baby'

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- An Oklahoma man whose daughter was killed when a tornado struck Plaza Towers Elementary School in Moore says she was his "special baby" who made friends with everyone she met.
Joshua Hornsby's 9-year-old daughter Janae was among seven children killed when the tornado hit the school Monday afternoon. Officials say 10 children in all were among the 24 people killed in the storm.
Hornsby says he drove to the school after hearing a tornado was headed that way but arrived 10 minutes after it struck. He says he also lost his home.
State officials say the damage estimate from the twister that's been rated an EF5 by the National Weather Service could exceed $2 billion.
