Oklahoma State Student Suspended For Sexual Misconduct
Oklahoma State University has suspended a student for a series of sexual assaults.
Nathan Cochran was found responsible for four violations of Section III(D)(21) (sexual misconduct) of the OSU Student Code of Conduct and was suspended for three years. His suspension begins Dec. 14 at the end of the academic semester. Cochran was ordered to have no contact with his accusers.
Cochran was formerly affiliated with the FarmHouse Fraternity.
The university released the following statement regarding the situation: "Oklahoma State University followed all laws, including the federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and policies while carrying out its student conduct process. The university acted responsibly and swiftly to take action on the allegations brought forward by students.
Oklahoma State officials encouraged the students to contact police with information regarding the incidents. None of the students elected to contact police prior to the student conduct hearings. After being contacted by Stillwater Police following the hearings, OSU contacted the students and once again encouraged them to contact the police.
