Father, Daughter Die in House Fire
A house that caught fire and killed a young girl and her father did not have working smoke detectors.
4-year-old Amber Finley and 24-year-old Cory Finley both died in the fire according to the girl`s mother.
The fire started around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday. According to the Norman Fire Department, the house had smoke detectors but they did not have batteries in them.
When firefighters arrived, flames had taken over the garage and were spreading to the attic and rest of the house.
Once firefighters entered the house, they found the 4-year-old in the living room. She was taken to a Norman hospital where she died.
Her father was found in the garage and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Fire investigators say the fire caused $135,000 in damages to the home. They're still working to determine the cause.
