Body Found In Logan County
A gruesome discovery North of the Metro opens a death investigation. A man in Logan County discovered skeletal remains on his property Wednesday afternoon. Fox 25's Kisha Henry was in Logan County as officials investigated. "The property owners don't know who the person is. They haven't been here since June. It's primarily used for storage," says Capt. Richard Stephens, Logan County Sheriff's Office. Bobby Jo Ray, a neighbor, says he went onto his best friend Nick's property in search of a refrigerator last week. "Someone had kicked the door in, so we thought it looked like some kids had been there and tore up the inside of his old house," says Ray. Wednesday, Nick made the trip out to check on his property. That's when he found a man's body. "It was a skull, and the mouth was hanging open. There was no skin or hair," explains Ray, who also saw the remains. Nick did not wish to speak on camera, but told us, as a Vietnam Veteran, the body brought back unwanted memories. "It shocked him real bad because he's been through some bad experiences," says Ray. "They were very upset at first. It took some calming down," adds Capt. Stephens. Officials say the body is that of a man's. Both the Logan County Sheriff's Office and the Medical Examiner's Office are investigating the incident as a suspicious death. "The man appears to be in summertime clothing, so sometime during the summertime months is when he perished," says Capt. Stephens. They believe the man is between 30- and 60-years-old. Investigators have started the search for the man's identity with missing person's reports. "I've checked ou records as well as Lincoln County and Payne County, which are very near to this area, and no one has missing person during that time period." Neighbors just hope they find the answers soon. "It's pretty scary knowing I've got two teenage daughters, my wife, and my mother over here. Pretty scary," says Ray.

Obama says nation must do more for fallen heroes
May 25, 2013 10:08 GMT
By DARLENE SUPERVILLE Associated Press
WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama says the nation must do more than just remember its fallen heroes on Memorial Day.
In his weekly radio and Internet address, Obama says the country must care for the loved ones the fallen leave behind. He says the country must also make sure that all veterans receive the care and benefits they have earned.
Obama says that, above all, the armed forces must have the support needed to carry out their missions at home and abroad.
In the Republican address, Oklahoma Sen. James Inhofe thanks the nation for its prayers and support following Monday's deadly tornado in his home state. He recalls past natural and man-made disasters in Oklahoma and says that while the state was hard hit, "we're not knocked out."
