Blog Started in the Metro Named One of the Best
The search for the best career websites, lead Forbes magazine to a blog started by a woman in the metro. Blogging4Jobs.com was named one of the top 75 career websites in this month's issue.
"Blogging4Jobs has always endeavored to provide the best career, human relations and job search tips and advice, and we are humbled and honored to be included on this list," said Jessica Miller-Merrell, the CEO and chief blogger for the site.
Blogging4Jobs started as a resource for job seekers back in 2007. The goal was to teach about job searching and the role of the internet and social media for doing so. It has since evolved into a tool for managers, human resources and recruiting professionals.
"We're... just information that you can use immediately for what I call the practitioner and that's the person in the office who's managing a team of people and is looking for some answers to help them do their jobs better," she said.
Forbes magazine asked for nominations for the list and received about 700. Those nominations were narrowed down 75. They are not ranked in an way. To view the other websites that made the list, click here.

Search continues in creek for missing Okla. teen
May 25, 2013 22:59 GMT
KINGFISHER, Okla. (AP) -- Authorities continue to search for a Kingfisher teenager who disappeared after jumping into Uncle John Creek.
Police say 17-year-old Taylor Faine jumped into the creek Thursday and did not resurface. Kingfisher Fire Chief Randy Poindexter told The Oklahoman (http://bit.ly/10s2oB6 ) on Saturday that manmade dams have been built in hopes of finding Faine's body.
Authorities say Faine was swimming with friends in an area where no swimming signs are in place because of dangerous currents in the creek.
