Thunderstruck Premieres in OKC
Harkins Theater in Bricktown rolled out the red carpet for a screening of the new movie "Thunderstruck." Stars and film makers were also welcomed to the city.
"I feel like this is the best place to be for this kind of movie because, seeing [the fans] are at games, how everybody shows up, I mean there's already tons of people here all wearing jerseys. Its the best place to have this premiere," said star of the film, Taylor Gray.
In the movie a young basketball fan, played by Gray, magically switches talents with his hero Kevin Durant, of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
"Remember it's just a movie," said the film's producer Mike Karz, "Kevin did not lose his powers in real life."
Karz and director, John Whitesell, were impressed with Durant's skill on the set. Extra scenes were written for Durant, after the crew discovered how good his acting and presence in the film was, Karz said.
"I wouldn't say I was good. But I tried my hardest. That's all I could do," Durant said. "I'm glad that I could walk into a movie theater and see my poster up there and star in a movie. I'm just excited that I got this opportunity."
"Thunderstruck" hits theaters August 24th.
"[Anybody] who has kids who love basketball, this is a movie taylor made for them, and they would love to see it," Whitesell said.

Lanes reopening near Shawnee but delays expected
May 20, 2013 12:28 GMT
SHAWNEE, Okla. (AP) -- Officials say drivers should expect delays on Interstate 40 in Shawnee as crews continue to clean up storm debris.
Westbound Interstate 40 was closed Sunday night at U.S. 177 after storms ripped through the area. U.S. 177 was also shut down because of vehicle accidents caused by the severe weather.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says northbound U.S. 177 at I-40 was reopened as of 7 a.m. Monday. Westbound traffic on I-40 is narrowed to one lane, but all lanes are expected to reopen later Monday morning.
Officials say drivers should expect congestion in the area or pick an alternate route.
