OKC mom, daughter arrested after birthday party
September 03, 2010 08:33 EDT
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Police in Oklahoma City say a mother and her 9-year-old daughter have been arrested after they showed up uninvited at a birthday party, where the daughter allegedly hit the birthday girl in the face.
Police say 33-year-old Gina Hinkle was arrested on complaints of burglary, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and trespassing. Her daughter was arrested on an assault and battery complaint, but her name wasn't released because of her age.
Police say Hinkle and her daughter crashed a birthday party Saturday and that Hinkle began shouting at a 12-year-old guest. The Oklahoman reported that Hinkle allegedly told her daughter to "stand up for yourself and do something," and the girl punched the birthday girl in the face.
Hinkle told police she was an invited guest and was trying to sort out problems between the girls when her daughter punched the girl.
