Would you support drug testing in schools?

62.85% Yes
37.14% No

Comment: I don't feel that we should hold our children to a higher standard then our teachers. We cannot require random drug testing on teachers unless there is probable cause so why are we excpecting more from our children then we do from those who teach them? I believe when we can require it of our teachers then and only then should we consider testing our students. In my town kids who want to pursue extra cirricular activities are required to have drug testing to participate now, but the coaches, band teachers, and others who take responsibility do not. It is wrong and unfair. What message are we sending to our kids? by Jerra

Comment: Put some more pressure on our kids. by Lynda

Comment: Wake up America. Who pays for the schools with our property taxes? Did any of you give up your 10th admendment rights to the government. I know I didn't. It is the parents responsibility to monitor the activity of their children. If you allow the government to take the responsibility of raising your children, what's next test tube babies using your genetic material to manufacture zombies for the government? The real problem here is that the government's "WAR on drugs" has failed and as usual, nobody is willing to step forward and admit that it is a failed policy. by ron

Comment: from experiance, life is much clearer with out drugs.

Comment: i think this would be good because i have grandkids in school. and i think it will help in cutting down the problems in schools and gangs. by donna

Comment: If parents were required to give consent and the results would not, in any way, be used to damage the childs future. If regular drug use is continuous the damage will take care of itself. This would be a great tool for parents to catch a problem and potentially resolve it early. by Latasha

Comment: If you don't have anything to hide...why not? by Melody

Comment: As a parent I would be glad to know that my child is being tested. Its for the benefit of the child. Early intervention is the key. After all they are still kids and the parents and the school have a right to know what kids are doing. by R
