Comment: No one has the right to tell someone how to live their life! This harms nobody and if they dont want to see it, they dont have to look! from Moore by Brittanie
Comment: It shouldn't even be a question. Despite our government's attempts to whittle away our Constitutional rights, EVERYONE has the right to assemble. from Oklahoma City by Gerald
Comment: Homosexuality is an abomination to God, and should be banned. from Shawnee, OK by Betty
Comment: Anybody who supports gays will burn in hell.
Comment: Discrimination is immoral, period from Stillwater, OK by Karen
Comment: Although I have been out for two years now, I was not able to attend last year's festivities. This year is my first opportunity and I look forward to it. I wish more people would have an open mind as there are several 'different' people in the parades from what I have seen, but we are in as normal of a relationship as we can be with the social stigmas against us. It's hard enough to be a member of the LGBT community in the buckle of the Bible belt, and this is one time a year that we get to be proud of what we are. from Oklahoma City, OK by AG
Comment: This event is an OKC tradition that doesn't cause harm to anyone. from Del City, Oklahoma by Robert
Comment: I believe they should. If the gay community can not have there Pride event then I think that should be for every other "straight" events as well. So lets not have a Forth of July event, do you think that is fair. from Bethany, Ok by Dylon
Comment: Frankly, I think it's
preposterous to question
whether it should allow the
event, it's constitutionally
protected. from Oklahoma City, OK by Brittany
Comment: Homosexualty is a chosen sinful perversion and is nothing to be celebrated. from Tuttle, OK by Al
Comment: Are they seriously going to try to stop Pride? from Tulsa, OK by Jean
Comment: Why not? Who cares? we have celebrations and parades for everything else. if you're not hurting anyone else, what's the problem? You guys need to get over yourselves and start covering real news. This is ridiculous. Why do people care so much who other people sleep with? from Oklahoma City, OK by Emily
Comment: I always thought we lived in a free country. What gives our state government the right to tell us how we can live. I don't think it is right for for our goverment officials to make decisions based on their personal religious beliefs. I also think that if someone is going to work for the government then they should have a open mind and quit being homophobic. We are not going to go away, so get over it. from Choctaw, Oklahoma by Tristan
Comment: Yes, I don't know what the big deal is
they're not hurting anyone. We have
native American parades all the time
would he vote against that because he's
not native American.
from Midwest city by Josh
Comment: Why celebrate, in public, something that is so WRONG? from Chandler / OK by Gail
Comment: It's a fun deal. Although I'm not
homosexual, I feel that having rights to
celebrate like everyone else should be
allowed. We're all human and want to
enjoy life. from Midwest City, OK by M
Comment: Of course, It's as much our city as it is anyone else's from Oklahoma City, OK by Floyd

Comment: It would be ignorant not to. Come on,Oklahoma! We've come so far! from oklahoma city oklahoma by joe
Comment: This is the one week of the year, we can celebrate our pride. I do not believe that is a lot to ask considering other minorities get a whole month. from Oklahoma City, OK by Justin
Comment: Of course they should allow it. It's the 22 second year of this event so all of the sudden we are going to go back in time!!! Seriously?? I love my State and I am very proud to be from OKC. However it is this kind of craziness that makes me scratch my head. from OKC, OK by Paula
Comment: What will be next? Come on Oklahoma we can do better. from okc / ok by Randy
Comment: There is nothing wrong with us celebrating who and what we are. It amazes me that this day and age people still have such a problem with other peoples sexuality. Especially with everything else that is going on in this world with War and poverty and the economic situation. Live and let live. we are all Gods children and deserve to live life the way we were born too. from Stillwater,Ok by Michael
Comment: Why shouldn't they allow the
event? They allow celebrations
for other minorities and
celebrated groups. from Edmond, OK by Aaron
Comment: Whether or not one agrees with the morality of being gay, there is nothing in the US Constitution that denies them the right to have an event like this.
Comment: As a supporter of many issues of equality for all, I believe that everyone should be able to celebrate getting together and have fun while you are doing it. Our celebration is a chance for all of us, supporters, friends and family, and anyone else to enjoy themselves and be happy we are alive today in a country of hope for equality. This year is certainly special as we can also celebrate our first black president, another equality issue turned on it's side. from Norman Oklahoma by JR
Comment: To say that the Pride event should not happen would be taking away a freedom that makes America what it is. Our soldiers fight for our freedoms on a daily basis. It is everyone's right to have their opinion but to stop someone else from expressing that is not right. from Oklahoma City/OK by Marie
Comment: This event welcomes everyone to come out and have good time. Maybe if some Oklahomans weren't so judgemental they may actually meet new lifelong friends. What ever happened to "Judge not, least ye be judged"? from Yukon by B
Comment: Is a gay parade, promoting gay sexuality really necessary? I don't agree with the gay lifestyle and find it obscene that these parades are conducted on public roads paid for by us all.
Comment: Love thy neighbor does not have restrictions.... from OKC by Bobbie
Comment: All that gay/lesbian people want is to have their love and relationship celebrated the same as anyone else. If it doesn't affect you then why should it be a problem. This is what they choose, so let them do it. from Oklahoma City by Lauren
Comment: OKC allows other groups to show their
"pride" (MLK Day parade. Red Earth
parade, etc.) so why exclude Gay
Pride? Obviously if OKC Pride has been
around for 25 years, there is a good
deal of support already. This is just
another instance of somebody trying
to force his religious beliefs onto
others. How would Mr. Walters feel if
an atheist group decided to oppose a
Christmas parade, because it
compromised their moral beliefs? I am
so tired of public officials in Oklahoma
trying to blur the line between church
and state. from OK by David
Comment: Once again OKC is embarassed by religious extremeists in our govt. The Pride Parade is a National Event that brings much needed money to OKC. This nitwit is looking for the Kern vote. I will be sending a fat contribution to anyone who will run against this clown next time. from OKC OK by Larry
Comment: LOVE IS LOVE & IF THEY ARE EXPRESSING AN ACT OF LOVE LET IT BE. WE HAVE TO MUCH HATE IN THE WORLD ALREADY, I'M NOT GAY BUT I SUPPORT OTHERS FEELING AS LONG AS IT'S NICE from OKLAHOMA CITY, OK by CINDY
Comment: I dont even understand why this is a topic for disscussion. The Government is suppose to seperate church and state correct? Well, someone needs to tell that representative to leave his religion at the door... Amen!
How can a person have the motive to deny people of their basic rights...its sickening...
Have you not already taken enough from us?? How can you deny someone the right to announce thier love to someone?! Gender is the only thing that stands in the balance.
Also, to say that your religous views is what dictated your vote?! How many scriptures are there against heterosexuals?! Why are they not viewed in the same harshness??!!Probably because they wouldn't think of worrying about rules that seem absurd, anachronistic or - at best - unrealistic. No respect should be given to those Americans who never hesitate to lean on the Bible to justify their own anti-gay attitudes...

Comment: The OKC Pride is awesome and fun and should stay and be respected. Dont get rid of it. from Oklahoma CIty, OK by Valentin

Comment: People have been waiting for this event all year. There is no reason to not allow it. from Oklahoma City, OK by Amber
Comment: Allow? This is a tradition that has been going on for years. The GLBTQ community has just as much right to celebrate itself as any other community. My husband and I will be there this year, as always. from Moore, OK by Kerri
