RESTAURATEUR-BREAST MILK
NEW YORK (AP) -- How's this for a gourmet treat? It's cheese made from human breast milk. Manhattan chef Daniel Angerer posted his recipe for "mommy milk cheese" on his blog. He owns the Klee Brasserie with his wife, Lori Mason. The breast milk cheese is encrusted with maple caramelized pumpkin and Concord grapes. Angerer says they had an overabundance of milk for their newborn, Arabella Caroline. So, when the couple ran out of room in their small freezer, Angerer decided to experiment.
MARIJUANA RELIGION
GEORGETOWN, Colo. (AP) -- Holy smoke isn't so holy after all. Trevor Douglas claims pot is his sacrament. But that argument got a Colorado judge a little out of joint. A Clear Creek County judge has found Douglas guilty on misdemeanor drug charges. Douglas says he'll appeal. He claims his use of pot is protected by the First Amendment right to religious freedom. The judge ordered Douglas to pay 450 bucks and serve 15 hours of community service.
LEAVING FOR LOVE
PASCO, Wash. (AP) -- Sometimes love is more important than politics. A Washington state mayor is following her heart and will resign. Joyce Olson, the mayor of Pasco, tells the city council she's moving to Norfolk, Va. She's joining her fiance there. She reconnected with a high school classmate last year while planning their 40th reunion. She and William Mathews got engaged around Valentine's Day. Olson says she intends to resign as mayor at the end of the month.
TEXAS STADIUM-IMPLOSION
DALLAS (AP) -- Eleven-year-old Casey Rogers will soon be a hero to haters of the Dallas Cowboys. The sixth-grader from Terrell, Texas, will get to trigger the destruction of Texas Stadium. He won a Kraft Foods essay contest for kids who have made a difference in their communities. Casey is a former foster child. He founded the charity Casey's Heart to help the homeless in downtown Dallas. While Cowboys' foes will be glad to see Texas Stadium go, Casey isn't one of them. He tells The Dallas Morning News he's a Cowboys' fan. The Texas Stadium implosion is set for April 11.
ROOFTOP FIGURES
NEW YORK (AP) -- Those aren't jumpers -- they're art. The NYPD is worried an art display could trigger 911 calls. Life-size figures will soon be gazing down from buildings near a midtown Manhattan park. Police officials are concerned that some might mistake the sculptures for suicidal people poised to leap. The work is by Antony Gormley and was first displayed in London a few years ago.
