Today I learned to ballet "dance." I say "dance" because what you are about to see probably wouldn't fall under an actual dance category. Check it out and click HERE.
I'll probably regret posting this later, but you just have to laugh at yourself sometimes. Or in my case, most of the time. Obviously, if you are not watching the Fox 25 Morning News from 5-10am, you are missing out on television GOLD! Let this be a lesson.
By the way, check out my Tumblr blog. It's full of pictures, videos, interesting news stories and of course, my Oklahoma Bucket List.
Take care!

Hey Fox Friends!
So many stories today that have people debating today on our Facebook page. I absolutely love it!
One that has my Facebook friends REALLY talking is a story about an 8-year-old Colorado boy pepper sprayed by police. Check out the full story here: Police Pepper Spray Second Grader.
After reading the story, what are you thinking? Were police justified in their actions? The responses run the spectrum today. First, some people say it's only an 8-year-old boy. And in that respect, why can't three police officers get a kid under control without the use of force? Although on the other side of the argument, some say police take all threats seriously, even if it's from a child--and children can be violent, too. So where do you sit in this debate? Let me know on my Facebook page!
Want an adrenaline rush? Check out this video we showed today on Good Day today: Accident sends 2x4 into windshield. Prepare yourself. It's pretty much any drivers worst nightmare. Basically, the driver was recording video, when a 2x4 falls off a truck and crashes into her windshield. Here's the craziest part: no one was hurt in the accident! Can you believe that? Seriously, check out the video. It's pretty surreal. After seeing it for the first time I couldn't help but wonder how I would have handled that situation. By the way, do NOT record video while driving! Very dangerous!
So a lot going on today that had our newsroom talking. Another thing we are excited about is Twitter. Anyone who knows me knows I love our OKC community on Twitter. From now on, we will be looking for one awesome tweet every day to feature on Good Day Oklahoma. Get creative and weigh in. And if you don't already follow me on Twitter (@Shackapopolus) or Fox 25 (@OKCFOX) make sure you click the links and get in on the conversation!
Alright, time to head out of here. It's been an exciting morning.
Everyone have a fab Thursday!

Today's pick-me-up of the day is this YouTube sensation. It's simply called, "Twin Baby Boys Have a Conversation." Take a look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JmA2ClUvUYSo now that you've watched it, how amazed are you? I know it's just baby babble but I can't help but wonder if these little guys have their own way of communicating to one another. What's the conversation about? Politics? Libya? Lady Gaga? Whatever they're saying, it's pretty clear these little tots are just plain CUTE.Alright, from cute to just plain scary--did you hear this today: one mom has admitted to giving her 8-year-old daughter BOTOX?!?! Apparently this mom claims it's becoming popular on the pageant circuit and is convinced it's going to help her stay young and become a star. When Danielle and I heard this story today, we had to pick our jaws up off the floor. Parents, Facebook me and tell me what you think of this story. Is it OK that this mom is giving her 8-year-old Botox injections??
And speaking of kids, does your little girl have a birthday coming up? If she does, would you get her the latest controversy in kids toys: a breast-feeding baby doll!?! This has got some parents up in arms saying the toy isn't age appropriate. The company says it's natural and teaches "nurturing" from a young age. What do you think? If you didn't see it on our show today, check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7PsVQH6lCQ
On a personal note, I couldn't deal with the diaper-wetting baby doll I had as a little kid. I hid it in the back of my closet and stuck to my Barbies. Parents, what do you think of this toy? Is it crossing the line?
Oh! So I have a new feature series coming up. It's called "Live and Let Dine" and we are doing it in part with OKCBiz Magazine. Today we shot the first installment at Raspberries and Creme here in NW OKC. All I can say is this: OH. MY. GOSH! People: have you been here yet? If not, watch for the segment, will you? The pictures alone will have your mouth watering. I left with a full stomach, that's for sure. And here's a little extra something: if you go before the piece airs, you have to ask owner Mary Jane why the Caramel is so Presidential. That's one cool story that will wow you. Watch for the story airing next week!
So besides my trip to Raspberries and Creme, most of today was filled with wild stories concerning kids. Again, moms and dads out there, I'd love to hear your opinions on some of these headlines that had us talking at Fox 25. Find me on Facebook or Tweet me @Shackapopolus.
See you on TV!

Hi Fox Friends!
I am going to be honest here: Tuesday is my least favorite day of the week. Is it just me? I don't mind Mondays but in my opinion, Tuesday is just the middleman between Monday and Wednesday.
Despite my feelings on Tuesdays, it was a great show today and I'm wrapping it up here with a blog post. I've been taking Melatonin so I'm winding down this evening. If you caught our show this morning, we were talking about how foods with Melatonin are ones that can calm down crabby dieters.
So, who's been catching American Idol? Getting ready to talk to Jack and Ron tomorrow about the latest round coming up this week. They are loving the new judges this season. I think the folks here in our newsroom agree. But not everyone has been so welcoming to the new judges. In fact, I just read one blog questioning if Steven Tyler is "The New Ellen DeGeneres." It says: now that the competition is on, Tyler isn't being tough enough on the contestants. What do you think? Is Steven slipping on AI?
Speaking of catching the show--did you see Good Day Oklahoma today? If not, you seriously missed out on a really neat kid. If you missed it, check out 12-year-old Jake here: http://tinyurl.com/65rxp4p.
Alright, so can you believe this?!?! Jake is working on proving Einstein's Theory of Relativity wrong. This is so crazy to me. On top of it, he has also been diagnosed with Autism, yet he still has this inspiring mind. What were you doing when you were 12? I don't remember what I was up to, but it certainly wasn't astrophysics! Too bad he lives in Indiana because we'd love to have him on the show!
Speaking of the show, (You gotta watch people! Look how much you are missing!) I talked a little about my own struggle with Math. It definitely wasn't my strong suit. In fact, I still use my fingers sometimes to add and subtract. EEK! I think that's why I'm so amazed by 12-year-old Jake. I'm excited to see what he grows up to become with a mind like that.
Finally on our show today, our Facebook question had everybody talking. Did you see it? Basically, it came from a study that said men feel "old" at age 58. And women? We feel "old" at 29! What's up with that?! Jeff was saying that maybe us ladies just care more when age starts to set in, while guys just "don't care." But 29? That's still spring chicken territory. We gotta start loving ourselves more or something, ladies. Maybe the guys are on to something here. :)
I'm not feeling old...just tired! I think that melatonin is kicking in.
See you all tomorrow morning on TV, and on our Twitter #FOXFIX!

Hey Fox Friends!
OK, I'm serious, folks.
Hopefully you aren't eating right now because this is cringe-worthy.
Are you ready for this? It's meat-flavored water. No joke!
Here's the website, if you can't believe it: http://dinnerinabottle.com/
BBQ Wing, Oyster, Chicken Salad and even Haggis...Could you imagine drinking some of these flavors?! If you ask me, I'll get my protein from a juicy steak. Or even better, rotisserie chicken! (One of my favorite Fox 25 Morning meals. Is that weird?)
Sound off, friends: Would you drink meat-flavored water? What kind sounds good (or completely nasty) to you?
On another note...fighting the Monday BLAHs today! What do you do to get into the workweek on a positive note? With this gloomy weather Jeff George is talking about for today, it can be hard. Sometimes I go shopping over the weekend, and then wear what I bought on Monday. It helps me wake up in the morning because I have something to look forward to. This weekend I tackled Target and found some really cute shoes for super cheap. I know, I know.....but I'm not addicted to shopping. Not yet, at least. :-)
Although get this: there is a school of thought that says finding a good deal at a store ACTUALLY makes us feel good by nature. That's because some experts say shopping for a good deal satisfies our caveman-like hunting and gathering instincts. So as long as the shopping addiction isn't costing you big bucks, ladies--scoring those shoes could actually be good for your health! How cool is that?
So anyway, just a couple interesting tidbits to take to the water cooler today and impress your buddies with some new-found conversation starters. That's what you'll find here on my blog: the silly, crazy and random things that don't always make it into our show but have us talking here in the Fox 25 Newsroom and will get you talking, too.
Feel free to post a comment and keep the discussion going. And as always, when I'm not posting here, you can find me on twitter (tweet me @shackapopolus). Besides on-air, that's where you can get your #FOXFIX. We've got an entire conversation going on Twitter all morning long that you can't get by just tuning in alone. So join us on Twitter, too. It's a good time.
See you tomorrow on TV! All morning long on Fox 25 from 5-10am.
Holla! ;-)
